Before we go too far, I've got to admit I have an obsession with sports. It's probably too much and takes away from areas of my life I could be more productive, but I LOVE watching people that are the best in the world, perform and compete at their craft.
As Americans watching sports, we're used to large bars with TVs all over the walls, playing games from around the USA at least, if not from around the world. In South America we knew they are crazy about fútbol/soccer and other sports, I figured it would be easy to watch fútbol games at sports bars and hopefully find my local American sports like NFL & NBA. But that turned out to be really hard to find.
What I've found is most of the locals here don't go to a bar dedicated to sports to watch their favorite team play. Many of them watch at home with friends, maybe have an asado (BBQ) or potentially go to a kiosco/corner bar to watch vs. what I'm used to in the states. In Mendoza, on Aristides Street towards San Martin park you will find many areas of folks watching sports at the kioscos, but that's only for games the Argentines care about.
When my Denver Nuggets were finally on a run to the NBA Finals, for the first time ever, I needed to find a place to go. I searched high and low for a bar, with TVs, that would actually play something for a foreigner. It was not easy for me to find one, asking locals where to go, who had the best TV set-up, most of them didn't have a clue as to where I could find the best sports bar in Mendoza. I searched on Google and found a few options, but in reality they all came up short, were closed or weren't really sports bars.
When it came down to it, I only found 1 great sports bar in Mendoza and that was Believe Irish Pub. (Google Maps Link)
They had a lot of TVs, were able to stream international sports and served to be a great location to watch my Nuggets win their first ever NBA Championship!!!! (Sorry in advance my only photos are the Nuggets WINNING!) We even had a few other fans there to watch the game....although nobody really ever roots for Colorado teams, especially against Miami in Latin America.
Believe was also a great place to watch fútbol games, they were packed for the Champion's League Final and were always playing either local games or good music when we were there. With ~20 TVs no matter where you sit, you'll have somewhere you can watch a game and with some streaming options you have a good chance of finding things from abroad. They also have outside TVs so you can watch sports outside. I didn't go for any NFL or MLB games but they were the only thing I found that was close to what we wanted.
